As Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Director of Alumni Outreach, Lawrence is a strategic communicator who works with the alumni body and recognized alumni/ae groups to create programming that helps them stay connected to, and involved with, the School, and to support the next generation of SPS graduates.

Lawrence began his career as a field organizer in a congressional campaign and took his passion for politics to Martin-Lauer Associates in Baltimore where, as a senior associate, he consulted with more than 50 campaigns ranging from City Council to the U.S. Senate. In 2005, he moved to Washington, D.C., and spent the next nine years building the District’s largest congressional Democratic fundraising firm at the time before moving into the role of public affairs consultant for Fortune 500 companies as Vice President of PAC Programs for 720 Strategies.

Lawrence volunteers as the executive director of the Shade Foundation, a national children’s organization devoted to skin cancer education and prevention.
