CLC Curriculum
School-Age Program

The school-age curriculum is designed to complement rather than to duplicate the school day by giving children opportunities to explore and build on their own interests and skills. Children may choose what they want to do, what materials they want to use, and with whom they want to play and work.

The school-age classroom is equipped with three computers, a woodworking table, blocks and other building sets, games, books, puzzles, a dress-up area, and a variety of arts and crafts. Weekly activities include science experiments, cooking projects, and learning units on specific curriculum areas such as space and the solar system, air and air pressure, and the human body.

The school-age children are provided with many opportunity to exercise and run around in the CLC's indoor "Big Room" and the outdoor playground. The St. Paul's gym and tennis courts are often used for active play. During vacation weeks and no-school days, the school-age children take many field trips to museums, farms, and interesting sites in the area.
