All students matriculating in the Third or Fourth Form year must complete a year and one term in the Arts to graduate; students matriculating in the Fifth Form must complete one year of study in the Arts to fulfill their graduation requirements. The initial year of study in the Arts must be three consecutive terms, i.e., a year-long course of study, in any one of the four Arts programs--Dance, Theatre, Fine Arts, or Music. It is strongly recommended that the first year of study in the Arts be completed in a student's first year at the School.
Courses that fulfill this initial year graduation requirement in the Arts--and serve as prerequisites to almost all other courses in their respective programs--include:
In Fine Arts--Fine Arts Foundations
In Theatre--Foundations in Theatre
In Dance--Introduction to Dance
In Music--Introduction to Applied Music or Applied Music
All students are strongly encouraged to continue to study in the arts throughout their St. Paul's School career.
