Home for the alpine ski team is Pat’s Peak Ski Area, an independent mountain just 11 miles from campus.

That proximity means more training runs for Big Red racers, and plenty of opportunity to trim their times. Though alpine skiing is an individual sport, captains prioritize and foster a positive team atmosphere that is supportive and encouraging of both fun and improvement. In 2022, Romeo Giudici ’22 placed first in slalom and giant slalom, and the SPS boys took the NEPSAC team title, competing at Maine’s Shawnee Peak.

Athletic trainers are on hand for every practice and race to ensure the health, well-being and development of every student-athlete. On campus, athletes have access to our 98,000 square-foot LEED-certified athletic center, which includes an indoor turf field, a fully equipped cardiovascular room and a state-of-the-art weight training room.
