St. Paul's School Names Independent Compliance Overseer
Jeffrey T. Maher will begin his new responsibilities at St. Paul's School on February 4, 2019
Dear SPS Community Members,
We write today with an update on the recent settlement agreement between the School and the Office of the Attorney General of New Hampshire dated September 13, 2018, which requires the appointment for a period of three to five years of an independent compliance overseer selected by the Office of the Attorney General from a list of qualified applicants provided by St. Paul’s School. Last week, the School’s suggestion that Jeffrey T. Maher serve in this capacity was accepted by the Attorney General.
Mr. Maher’s experience within education and law enforcement make him well-suited to this role, which is outlined in the settlement agreement. He joins us from Keene State College where he has most recently held the roles of director of campus safety and compliance and Title IX discrimination and harassment coordinator. Before that, he was captain and divisional commander of the Uniform Field Operations Bureau in the Nashua, N.H., police department. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University and a master’s degree from Fitchburg State College, both in criminal justice, and a J.D. degree from the Massachusetts School of Law. He will begin his new responsibilities at St. Paul’s School on February 4, 2019.
We are confident that Mr. Maher will bring additional, useful perspective to our commitment to a safe, nurturing, and welcoming community for all who live here. We welcome him to St. Paul’s School.
