Students, faculty, and staff join the Concord community for Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Students, faculty, and staff marched a mile down Main Street on Wednesday, October 2, as part of the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (WAM) event in downtown Concord. For the fourth year in a row, the SPS team – which included the football and girls JV soccer teams – earned the award for having the largest group, with 81 members of the School community participating.

The walk, held by the Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire (CCCNH), raises awareness and funds for the center’s work with those affected by domestic and sexual violence in Merrimack County. The SPS effort, led by Sixth Formers Claire Yoo and Nina Parker, raised $935 for the nonprofit.

“This event is important because it is a reminder to step out of our bubbles and understand the severity of society's issues,” says Yoo ’20. “All it takes is one person to listen to someone's story.”
