Public statement from Rector Hirschfeld with letter sent to parents, students, faculty and staff.
St. Paul’s School Rector Michael G. Hirschfeld ’85 offered the following statement today concerning recent student misconduct.
“In May, the School commissioned an independent investigation into the ‘crown’ incident in one of our dormitories. That investigation was completed last week. The investigation revealed student behavior that was in violation of the School’s rules but found no behaviors in violation of New Hampshire law. The students who were found to have violated our prohibition against recording relationships have been disciplined. Our rules are clear and students are held accountable to them.
This behavior contradicts our rules as well as our values. We are continually reinforcing our expectations for student behavior and employ a comprehensive curriculum to promote a healthy culture, including empowering students to stand up for the School’s values. In this regard, we commend the students who intervened and brought this matter to the School’s attention.
We are taking the Attorney General office’s inquiry very seriously and we will cooperate fully with its investigation. The safety and well-being of our students has been and remains our foremost priority.”
