Fun Run raises more than $4,400 in scholarship money for the summer program
Dressed in funky hats and sunglasses, capes, and other creative attire (including multiple boys running inside an inflatable raft), students of the Advanced Studies Program completed the 12th annual Fun Run/Walk along the SPS cross country course.

The July 18 event began and ended at the Tien Track, with music pumping through outdoor speakers. For the last six summers under ASP Director Mike Ricard (SPS ’89), the event has served as a fundraiser to raise need-based financial aid for students in the following summer’s class.

In 2014, the ASP community raised $2,479.33. The total rose to $4,479.33, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, who has matched or exceeded the community total since 2009.

Trevor Colby of Inter-Lakes High School paced the field with a time of 9:36. Emma Henricks of Exeter High School led all ASP girls, finishing in 12 minutes.
Kennett High School’s deGrasse Schrader earned best costume honors for her cow attire. Jack Sheffer (Bow High School), Catherine Quimby (Inter-Lakes High School), and Alexi Kim (Hanover High School) earned honorable mentions for their costumes.
