Boys and girls squash place in the top 10 at nationals

UPDATE: Both the boys and girls squash teams placed in the top 10 in Division I at the 2019 Head U.S. High School Team Squash Championship in Hartford, Connecticut, this past weekend. The boys made it to the semifinals and finished fourth, and the girls earned their best result in a decade, ending the weekend in 10th place.

This weekend, the St. Paul's School boys and girls varsity squash teams journey to Hartford, Connecticut, for the 2019 Head U.S. High School Team Squash Championship. The event will gather 121 boys teams and 87 girls teams to compete at Trinity College, February 1-3. Currently, both SPS squads are ranked nationally in Division I; the boys are third, and the girls ninth.

The collective success this winter builds upon the momentum from last season. In 2017-18, the boys varsity squad finished fifth at nationals, making it the program’s highest finish in the Division I bracket since 2008. The girls have made the jump to Division I competition this year after finishing third at nationals last season in the Division II bracket, which includes teams ranked 17-32 nationally.
