Why Give?
Although St. Paul’s School has certainly grown from the three-student enrollment of its 1856 founding, the School remains today an intimate community – but one that offers big-school programs. Tuition covers only 60 percent of the cost of educating our students, more than a third of whom receive some form of financial aid. When you give to St. Paul’s School, you are giving the gift of a St. Paul’s education and ensuring that we are able to maintain our small size without giving up “big” opportunities for our students.

Gifts to the Annual Fund are unrestricted and help to pay for many of our programs and resources – approximately 16 percent annually. Without this support, the programs we offer could not be nearly as compelling and St. Paul’s could not be nearly as special. All gifts, large or small, benefit and sustain the vitality of the School.

Capital and endowed gifts help preserve and enhance the School community, ensuring the long-term programmatic strength of SPS – whether in support of identified facilities needs or other physical space priorities, or in support of our faculty and student body.

Planned gifts provide income to SPS into the future and may often involve tax benefits for donors.

The tradition of philanthropy at St. Paul's School, including support from alumni, parents, and friends, is extraordinary and helps ensure that students can live and learn in an environment that will foster their growth as leaders and in service to others.
