Finding Your Next Home: Real Estate Advice for Young Alumni

Planning to relocate after college, looking for a rental for the summer or getting ready for homeownership? Young alumni in the Forms of 2009-2023 are invited to join us for this virtual discussion.

In this conversation moderated by Zoe Williams ’10, young alumni liaison for the Alumni Association Executive Committee, real estate professionals Megan Duryea Scott ’90 and Nikki Modica ’11 will share their insights on navigating the real estate market in NYC, Boston and beyond. You’ll also have the chance to connect with others who are ready to make a move and hear from staff in the Advancement Office on how to leverage the alumni network and find community in a new location.

While especially relevant for young alumni, this event is open to SPS community members of all ages.

Speakers

Megan Scott '90

Megan Duryea Scott ’90, senior global real estate advisor at Sotheby’s International Real Estate Affiliates LLC

Megan came to real estate nearly 20 years ago after a distinguished career in finance. She spent several years at J.P. Morgan as an international equity sales trader. It was a seamless transition to real estate, as her understanding of market cycles, client focus and strong negotiating skills gave her all she needed to quickly grow a thriving business in her new field. Her goal is to help her clients navigate the New York City real estate market and to guide them through their deals from first viewing to successful closing. She is experienced in selling cooperatives, condominiums and townhouses, both uptown and downtown. Megan graduated from Georgetown University and lives with her family in Carnegie Hill.

Nikki Modica '11

Nikki Modica ’11, vice president of the Bell Petrini Group

Nikki started her career in real estate in 2017 at a boutique firm in Boston’s Back Bay. With a background in interior design and spatial planning, Nikki is passionate about helping her clients realize the potential of any space. She prides herself on understanding her clients’ needs, showing them relevant properties, and making their dream home a reality. As vice president of the Bell Petrini Group, her specialties are acting as a buyer’s agent, listing agent and leasing agent.

A native of Marblehead, Massachusetts, Nikki’s strong North Shore roots eventually pulled her out of downtown and up to Lynn’s Diamond District, where she now resides with her husband, 1-year-old son, and Miniature Bernedoodle. While expanding her client base along the North Shore, Nikki continues to assist buyers, sellers and renters throughout the Greater Boston area.
