Doug Asano ’92, P’25 is a senior executive with more than two decades of leadership experience in residential construction, building products, sales, marketing, strategy, and communications. He currently serves as senior vice president of sales, marketing & communications at Roseburg Forest Products, where he leads the company’s sales, customer, marketing, and communications teams and serves as a member of the senior management team. Prior to joining Roseburg in 2020, Asano spent 16 years at Huber Engineered Woods, ultimately serving as vice president of sales and marketing after holding roles of increasing responsibility across strategy, sales, and senior leadership.

Asano has also held significant industry governance roles. From 2023 to 2025, he chaired the board of trustees of APA – The Engineered Wood Association, the North American industry association for wood products manufacturers. He has served as an APA trustee since 2021 and previously was vice chairman of the board and chairman of the finance committee.

Asano has been deeply engaged in service to St. Paul’s School since graduating, including as Form Agent, Main Agent, and Form Director. He previously served two terms on the board of trustees (2015-2021), during which he was SPS Fund chair, sat on the compensation committee and was treasurer of SPS Alumni Association. Asano’s connection to St. Paul’s also extends through his family: his youngest daughter, Anna, is a member of the Form of 2025; his brother, Evan, graduated in 1993; and his sister-in-law, Trilby Reeve Asano, graduated in 2001.

Asano earned a BA with honors in economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He began his career in investment banking at JP Morgan and later held roles in private equity and financial services, bringing a foundation in finance, strategy, and organizational leadership to his professional and volunteer work.

Asano lives in Davidson, North Carolina, with his wife, Alexi, and has two college-age daughters. He is an avid skier and outdoorsman and a USA Hockey referee, having officiated at the high school, junior, college, and semi-pro levels.
