Joseph Tsai is the vice chairman of both Cathay Financial Holdings and Cathay United Bank. Mr. Tsai joined Cathay Life Insurance in 2005 and Cathay Financial Holdings in 2011. Since joining Cathay United Bank in 2015, Mr. Tsai has led the development of long-term strategy, organizational transformation, and new business development. In recent years, Mr. Tsai has also been responsible for driving digital transformation initiatives at Cathay United Bank as well as across all subsidiaries of Cathay Financial Holdings.
Prior to returning to Taiwan, Mr. Tsai worked at Goldman Sachs in New York and WilmerHale in Boston. Mr. Tsai holds an A.B. in economics from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
